Dr Seok-Hyung Lee

I obtained a PhD in Physics from Seoul National University (South Korea) in 2023 under the supervision of Prof. Hyunseok Jeong. My dissertation, titled "Universal Resource-efficient Topological Measurement-based Quantum Computing" delves into fault-tolerant measurement-based quantum computing (MBQC) schemes. Specifically, it is about improving the fault-tolerance and resource efficiency of MBQC by using color-code-based cluster states or encoded photonic qubits.

Upon completion of my PhD, I joined the University of Sydney as a research fellow. My research is mainly about the field of quantum error correction. I have a keen interest in two specific areas:
(1) Quantum error correction with color codes: Enhancing its fault tolerance and resource efficiency, benchmarking its performance and comparing with surface codes, magic state distillation, and more.
(2) Photonic quantum computing through measurement-based or fusion-based quantum computing: Building large resource states with nondeterministic entangling gates, benchmarking its performance under realistic error models, and more.
