Rafael Alexander

Rafael is a postgraduate student at the University of Sydney currently undertaking a PhD with Professor Stephen Bartlett.

His research focuses on quantum information and computation in the continuous variable setting. Rafael is interested in studying measurement-based quantum computation and related information theoretic protocols. Some of his current work includes devising more efficient and less noisy measurement schemes for use on continuous-variable cluster states.

By using continuous-variable information protocols, he hopes to achieve progress towards highly scalable protocol for quantum computation. Though such an approach has demonstrated great potential in this regard, a major challenge is overcoming noise that arises due to finite such difficulties by using techniques such as error correction.
